Selection of scraper chain is mainly for the rational use of its structural type, chain pitch, blade pitch, material quality, etc. In addition, it not only should meet the requirements of production capacity, but also pay attention to adaptability of scraper chain to materials. 

1. Select the type of scraper 

Scraper type often determines conveying effect of buried scraper conveyor. If users choose proper scraper, then satisfied conveying effect can be got. Otherwise, it maybe cause bad conveying effect or even cannot transport materials. 

Selection principle of scraper type is to choose structure as simple as possible under the condition of adaptability of scraper chain to materials. If involved specific selection, it can select machine type according to properties of the material viscosity, suspension and liquidity, machine groove width, conveyor layout. 

1.1 With regard to materials with good performance, it should give priority to adopt simple scraper type, such as T-type, V-type, and U-type. If the materials has lower internal friction, strong suspended ability, large mobility, it should select complex scraper type, such as H-type. 

1.2 If the materials with larger sticky, it should adopt simple type, such as T-type, V-type, and U-type in order to reduce material adhesion on scraper. 

1.3 If the groove width is small, it’s better to adopt simple type. When conveying materials with large stacking density in a larger closed trough, it can adopt O-type guillotine plate with a inclined strut in order to increase the rigidity of scraper.

1.Position Setting

At first, it’s better to make sure that where is the position of head and tail. And then users can make a position for center line of scraper conveyor.

2.Lay Out Middle Trough Body

Users can lay out middle trough body according to the machine’s center line. Also, it must make sure that laying of conveyor surface should be straight otherwise it will make the chain and trough casing worn. 

3.Install Head and Tail of Machine

It must make sure that there is some space in head and tail of machine so that uses can maintain or repair it timely. Also, center lines of chain wheel and scraper conveyor should be in a vertical status.

4.Install Scraper Chain 

Users should connect the scraper chain before making a installation. Not only should the scraper blade distribute equably in the chains, but also should the length of chain be equal. 

5.Inspection and Non-load Running

Users had better inspect the scraper conveyor totally after all the installation work is being done. Make sure that the machine has 2 hours non-load running so that users can inspect whether driven device and scraper conveyor are running normaly as well as can adjust the length of chain.

1.Ensure all pins are are fastened before using scraper chain

Users need to check the scraper chain and keep maintenance records regularly. Inspect tension degree of scraper chain and keep it reach required torque.

2.Carry out periodic inspection and measurement

Once scraper chain is slack, or there exists normal sound which caused by hitting guide rail rack. At this time, users had better adjust the tension of chain right away.

3.Please make sure that the joints between chains could move freely when changing new chains.

What should users notice before operation

1. Inspect whether the connections of central slot buckle are very well.
2. Inspect whether the lubrication oil is in a proper amount.
3. Inspect whether the connecting bolts of the head and tail section are stable.
4. Inspect whether the scraper chain is tight.
5. Inspect whether the sound is normal during operation.

What should users notice during operation

1. Inspect the temperature of gearbox and motor during operation all times.

2. Inspect whether gearbox and other transmission components make a noisy sound.

3. Before shut down the machine, it's better to do unload operation for several times so that it can discharge the material inside the conveyor which is convenient for maintenance.

4. Material flow should be uniform in order to avoid overload operation.

5. Please pay attention to whether the chain is jumping during the operation of scraper conveyor. If this kind of situation happens, please shut down the machine and examine it right away.

This article is the continuation of previous one. PK Machinery will introduce you load testing running of scraper conveyor.

Load test running

1. Once no-load test running becomes normal , please test run with load.
2. After scraper conveyor runs with load normally, please feed the material uniformly to avoid blockage.

3. The casing must be fully sealed to avoid the material overflowing. A grate net must be added on the inlet to avoid massive material or hard objects enter into the scraper conveyor. 

4. After material inside the scraper conveyor is discharged from the outlet completely, then stop the machine. 

5. During no-load and load test running, please make a record that includes voltage, current, power and scraper chain running speed etc. and check whether they meet the requirement of design or not.

Before operating scraper conveyor, we should have a trial run. So this article will introduce some necessary notes during test running.

Non-load test running

1.Check if there is any remaining tool, iron casting pieces and other hard objects inside the scraper conveyor, if any , please clear up. 

2.Give enough lubrication to all the bearings, driving devices and drive chain etc. 

3.Check if all the scraper conveyor parts are intact, whether the tense of scrapers is suitable or not. 

4.After finish checking the above items, then power on and switch off several times to see if the operation is normal, if normal, run the scraper conveyor continuously.

5. In addition, the head, tail , medium parts and other main structures, workers must be sent to observe the running , if any problems, please solve it without delay.
